Land Grant Trust Fund

The net income from the sale, lease, development and other income generated from trust lands is deposited into the University's Land Grant Endowment Trust Fund (LGTF).  This fund, the University's permanent endowment, is managed by the University of Alaska Foundation Trustees.  The fund is managed under standard endowment accounting practices with only the earnings, less inflation-proofing, being available for expenditure on an annual basis.  Earnings from the LGTF are used to fund, among other things, the UA Scholars Program and an array of natural resources related education and research projects, including fisheries and ocean sciences, biology, agriculture and minerals.
